Everyone of us is looking for meaning in life. We attach meaning to those that seem to provide fulfillment in life. However, we often come to the realization that what we considered capable of fulfilling our life and expectations are, in reality, far below the longings of our inner being. Those who continue this pursuit might chance upon the realm of the Supernatural and suddenly realize that the experience of the Divine is “Beyond and Higher” than all what they had ever longed for. Such an experience puts one’s soul in complete rest. In such an experience there is no more longing but to perpetuate this experience, no more desires but to conform oneself to the demands of this transforming experience.

In my search for Meaning in life

Friendship, at first, valued highest.

Until, in pain, I accepted,

There is something beyond, higher.

Then I came to value my kins,

And my life moved serene a while.

But then I saw, someone’s life showed,

There is something beyond, higher.

This man had a set of rituals

Which he fulfilled, I thought that’s it.

But one morning, he too whispered,

There is something beyond, higher.

I was all lost, no friends, no kins,

And no rituals now could lead me,

To get hold of what he meant by

There is something beyond, higher.

Then I sat down, eyes closed, silent,

My soul stirred up, in tears I cried.

O God! So long, I missed this joy.

There is something beyond, higher.

Knew not how to describe in words

But now my friends, my kins and life

Took a new turn, I was fulfilled

It was indeed, beyond, higher.
