My Most Beloved Lord, I thank and praise You for Your inspiring words. May my heart remain open to understand the depths of their meaning.
Engage:
Dearest Lord, today I see You visiting the home of Martha and Mary. They welcomed You warmly and served You with love. But when Martha came to voice her concern about being overwhelmed, You gently reminded her not to be “anxious and worried about many things”. Lord, I see Your clarity and directness in speaking truth. When Peter tried to dissuade You from the path of suffering, You rebuked him firmly: “Get behind Me, Satan!”. You also taught that “anyone who comes after Me without hating father, mother, brother, or sister cannot be My disciple”, calling for undivided devotion.
Yet, Lord, You are so generous in affirming and validating others. When Mary chose to sit at Your feet and listen to Your words, You declared she had chosen the “better part”. You acknowledged the Roman centurion’s faith, saying, “I have not found such great faith even in Israel”. You praised the poor widow who gave two copper coins, proclaiming she had given “more than all the others”. Your words are both honest and life-giving, balancing truth with tenderness.
Response:
Lord Jesus, I see Your straightforwardness in pursuing God’s will. I desire to be like you in Your courage in speaking truth with love. To be like You today:
- I will gently tell Sister Maria that her recent decision about a particular matter was not in line with our shared commitment.
- I will text Henry to address his harsh tone during our meeting, speaking honestly but with kindness.
Beloved Jesus, I also see Your generous in affirming goodness in others. I long to reflect Your grace by affirming those around me. To be like You today:
- I will praise Sister Clara for her heartfelt chanting during Mass, which uplifted the congregation.
- During our group prayer, I will acknowledge Sister Ruth’s dedication to organizing the parish outreach program.
Resolution:
Today, I will appreciate Sister Ruth at the end of our prayer meeting for her initiative in organizing parish outreach program.
