Q1: Is there a specific timeline for how long a person should remain in the Foundational Level? When exactly is one ready to enter the Awakened Level?
A: There is no fixed calendar for the soul; one cannot say that the Foundational Level lasts for one month, six months, or a year. The duration is not determined by time, but by the state of your “spiritual territory.”
To understand this, we must look at the stages of Identity Distortion. In the initial stages (often referred to as the Lot Level), our lives are crowded with “external elements”—habits, attachments, and worldly influences—that walk up and down within us, disturbing our peace and dictating our actions.
The purpose of the Foundational Level is precisely to address these intruders. Through the daily evening practice of surrendering failures and washing them in the Precious Blood, we slowly evict these external elements.
- If a person has few external elements disturbing their inner life, they may pass through the Foundational Level relatively quickly and be ready for the Awakened ascent.
- If a person has many external elements—deeply rooted habits, gadget addictions, or a chaotic lifestyle—they will need to spend more time in the Foundational Level.
Therefore, do not rush. The transition happens naturally when the “traffic” of external elements in your soul quiets down.
Q2: Can someone enter the Awakened Level very quickly without spending much time in the Foundational Level?
A: This is directly connected to the first question. Yes, it is possible for someone to enter quickly, provided they do not have many “external elements” walking up and down in their life.
If a person is relatively free from the noise of gadgets, toxic relationships, or other external influences, their process of surrendering and washing these elements in the Foundational Level will be completed quickly. Consequently, they can enter the Awakened Level sooner.
This is crucial because the Awakened Level deals with a different class of struggle. In the Awakened Level, we must address subtle issues arising from our deep-seated core needs and wounds. If we are still fighting the loud battles of external elements, we will simply be too distracted to notice or identify these quieter, internal struggles. The noise must be cleared before the deep work can begin.
Q3: If I haven’t been doing the evening TAPPING regularly, can I just start doing the morning Awakened TAPPING? Isn’t morning prayer always good?
A: While it is true that any prayer is better than no prayer, and beginning your day with God will definitely have a positive impact, skipping the Foundational work to jump to the Awakened method carries a significant spiritual risk.
There is a specific spiritual progression that occurs in the Foundational Level that cannot be bypassed. In the Foundational Level, the focus is on cleansing. By reviewing our day, surrendering our specific failures, and applying the “New Life” correction, we actively dismantle the negative influences in our lives. This is how the “external elements” (the Lot Level) are removed.
If you skip this necessary scrubbing and jump straight to the morning “Anointing of the Day” (the Awakened Level):
- The Illusion of Growth: You may feel good because you are praying in the morning, but the “external elements” will remain active in your life because they are never confronted or washed away.
- The Lot Level Trap: You will remain in the Lot Level (where external influences coexist with your spiritual life), yet you will be under the false impression that you are in the Awakened Level.
- The Danger of Wrong Convictions: Over time, this disconnect leads to the Boat Level of identity distortion. You begin to form wrong convictions, drifting away from truth while believing you are steering straight. You may think you are growing, but you are actually settling for a compromised identity, unaware that the foundation beneath you is still unstable.
Therefore, humility is key. Do not seek to be “Awakened” before you are “Cleansed.” The climb is safe only for those who have first learned to stand.
Q4: Can someone enter the Awakened Level practicing only TAPPING, without Meditation or Spiritual Fencing?
A: Technically, it is possible, because God’s grace is the primary agent of our growth and is not restricted by our methods. However, practically speaking, the process is far less effective—and progress may eventually stall—without these two disciplines.
First, Meditation is essential because it is the repository of the qualities of Christ. In the “New Life” step of Awakened TAPPING, we proactively choose specific virtues of Jesus to embody during the day. If we have not meditated sufficiently in the Foundational Level, we simply won’t have “access” to these qualities in our mind. We cannot imitate a Christ we do not know.
Second, Spiritual Fencing is vital because eliminating “external elements” is the primary goal of the Foundational Level. Without actively guarding the senses and occupying the mind, eliminating these influences becomes incredibly difficult.
The Shift in Roles:
Crucially, as we transition into the Awakened Level, the dynamic between these practices shifts. In the Foundational Level, TAPPING is the primary vehicle carrying us forward, while Meditation serves as the map giving us direction, and Spiritual Fencing acts as the armor protecting us.
However, once we ascend to the Awakened Level, Meditation becomes the actual vehicle. The deep internal transformation required at this height is driven by the profound union with Christ found in Meditation. TAPPING and Spiritual Fencing then begin to serve Meditation, ensuring that the soul remains protected and the mind remains clear so that the vehicle of Meditation can drive the soul toward the summit. Without establishing Meditation in the Foundational Level, this powerful engine is missing when the climb begins.
