Vox Divini (Latin for “Voice of the Divine”) is a Catholic spiritual ministry led by Fr. Jerry VM SDB, a priest of the Salesians of Don Bosco (Dimapur Province, Nagaland, India).
The ministry is distinct for its psychological-spiritual approach, focusing on deep inner healing and the restoration of one’s personal identity as the “image and likeness of God.” It serves priests, religious, and laypeople (including youth) primarily through retreats, training programs, and online media.
Mission & Philosophy
The central mission of Vox Divini is Identity Restoration. The ministry operates on the belief that human struggles and spiritual stagnation often stem from “illusions” that distort a person’s understanding of who they are. By clearing these distortions, individuals can rediscover their true identity in Christ.
Key Programs: The Vox Divini Voyage
The ministry structures its formation into a path called the “Vox Divini Voyage,” which consists of three progressive “journeys” or retreat levels:
- Christara (The First Journey):
- Focus: Foundational spiritual growth.
- Goal: To move from “identity distortion” to “identity restoration.” It addresses the roots of personal struggles, failures, and inner wounds, helping participants clear the “four levels of illusions.”
- The Awakened & Contemplative Journey (The Second Journey):
- Focus: Deepening the spiritual life.
- Goal: Moving beyond basic healing into a more awakened state of prayer and connection with God.
- The Unitive Journey (The Third Journey):
- Focus: Union with the Divine.
- Goal: The highest stage of the voyage, focusing on becoming more like Jesus in thought, word, and deed (the “Unitive” level).
Distinctive Spiritual Tools
Vox Divini teaches specific, practical methods to aid spiritual progress, rather than just abstract theology. Three key tools include:
- Vox Divini Meditation: A specific method of meditation designed to focus on the qualities of Jesus, helping the practitioner imitate Him and reflect His nature in daily life.
- Spiritual Fencing: A mental discipline practice involving “consciously occupying the mind.” It is used to guard against distractions and negative thoughts, ensuring the mind remains a vessel for holiness rather than a “battlefield” for the enemy.
- Tapping: A prayerful technique used to build a friendly connection with Jesus. It comprises of Thanksgiving, Adoration, Pardon, Praise, Intercession, New Life and Good action. It is specifically aimed at overcoming feelings of failure or discouragement.
Media & Outreach
- Website: http://www.voxdivini.in serves as the central hub, hosting meditation notes (e.g., monthly reflection notes), articles on healing, and retreat schedules.
