Why do we think what we think of whom we think?

Evey conviction that we hold is based upon a mental framework. What we think or believe of someone too depends on a framework of this kind. Such a mental make up is built slowly, often unconsciously, basing ourselves on various experiences with a person. At times the convictions we develop of people are negative; as a result even great effort from someone to alter his or her life fail to change our opinion of him or her.

One problem which we all face is that we fail to believe that it is possible for someone to change and begin a transformed life. Such an attitude reduces the quality of our personality. What we need to keep in mind, first of all, is that the personality of someone is far greater than what we can conceive of based on a few incidents. Secondly, we need to be aware of our inhibitions on people’s ability to make a change. If we believe that someone is greater than what we him with my limited experience we will be slow in passing judgement on him or her. Similarly if we believe that it’s possible for people to change we will be less eager to convict someone of poor behavior based on our past experiences with that person

  1. Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself. . We don’t see things the way they are. We see them the way WE are
I have found that if you love life, life will love you back  The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is, and the future less resolved than it will be
All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make, the better. God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference
